Greatful Gravel Grinders

Great weekend out on the bike. On Saturday met up at Steve Fullers house for a 3.5 hour ride. We really didn't "ride" the whole 3.5 hours but we sure had a great time. Spent some time playing around in the snow and finished off with a fat tire. Great day!

Night Rida!
Sunday night I was feeling a bit frisky and decided to head out for some night time gravel riding. This would be my 2nd night time riding event, and my inaugural winter/night time/gravel ride. It sure was memorable! Had a great time and felt like I could go forever. Only logged 28 miles, but still really enjoyed myself. I had some old jams on the ipod and just went out and rode. It's fun when you're not constantly looking how fast you're riding and keeping an eye on your heart rate.

Check out the set up for this evenings ride. Keeping it old school. I think I'm about 3mph faster b/c the frame is so aero.

Doesn't take a lot to enjoy life, two wheels and some tunes. Great weekend overall, learned a few lessons on proper attire and logged some decent time. I think I may have been almost as comfortable as if I was inside on a trainer. One thing is for sure, when I'm riding indoors I never end with such a big smile on my face like I did this evening. :-D

Notice how I use all the tools for posting pictures, middle, left and right!
Getting some good time in on the bike but more importantly enjoying myself. I'm hoping this leads to continued gains with my training. Tomorrow is a much deserved day off and Tuesday I have a double header w/ kettlebell training in the a.m. and DMOS Tuesday night training at night. I need to get my rest.
